Committee Information

Since WEDA is a membership-based organization, it relies heavily upon membership input with respect to defining and promoting statewide economic development issues. Predominately, this input is derived from WEDA's Committee and Subcommittee activities. Once articulated within this committee structure, formal action plans are presented to the WEDA Board. If adopted by the Board, then said plans are implemented through WEDA's Executive and Legislative Directors. A brief description of each WEDA Committee is provided below.

  • Communications - The Committee is responsible for WEDA's internal and external communications. To obtain additional Committee information, please contact the Chair / Co-Chairs.
  • Education - The Committee is charged with the responsibility of producing WEDA's professional development and continuing education series. Currently, the Committee creates and administers WEDA's Governor's Conference, as well as the Spring and Fall Conferences. To obtain additional Committee information, please contact the Chair / Co-Chairs.
  • Legislative Committee - The Committee strives to develop proactive regulatory and legislative strategies that further WEDA's goals. The Committee has five subcommittees: Capital, Economic Development, Environment / Brownfields, Telecommunications, Transportation and Utilities. To obtain additional Committee information, please contact the Chair / Co-Chairs.
  • Membership - The Committee maintains and enhances WEDA's membership level through enhanced membership-based services. To obtain additional Committee information, please contact the Chair / Co-Chairs.
  • Nominating - The Committee recommends a list of qualified WEDA members for expiring and/or vacant WEDA Board of Director positions. These Director positions are voted on annually during WEDA's Annual Meeting at the Governor's Conference. To obtain additional Committee information, please contact the Chair / Co-Chairs.
