| 1:30 p.m. | Tour the Milwaukee Art Museum (www.mam.org) Tour the Milwaukee Art Museum and the spectacular new Santiago Calatrava-designed expansion overlooking Lake Michigan. This is the first Calatrava project completed in the U.S. features the striking Quadracci glass reception hall, a suspended pedestrian bridge and a winglike steel sunshade (Brise Soleil)that spans wider than a Boeing 747. View one of the most exciting exhibits ever presented in Wisconsin: "Leonardo da Vinci and the Splendor of Poland". The exhibit includes a work by da Vinci with public and private collections from Poland in their first presentation outside Europe. (Meet in the Hilton Lobby at 1:30 p.m.to travel to the Museum for a guided tour of the exhibit. Admission $12/person.) | |
| 7:00 p.m. | On the Town in Downtown Milwaukee Rather than a formal reception, WEDA is encouraging conference participants to spend a casual evening enjoying all that downtown Milwaukee has to offer. Start out at Buck Bradley's Saloon and Eatery by 7:00pm, 1019 N. Old World Third Street for peanuts and beer. From there, decide what type of Milwaukee cuisine you'd like to "experience". Milwaukee is famous for its restaurant diversity. Whether it's Italian, German, Polish, Serbian, Irish, Japanese, Chinese or Middle Eastern, we're sure you can find something to tickle your taste buds. The Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitor's Bureau will provide eatery information in your registration packet.
