WEDA 2002 Governor's Conference

I think the conference has been wonderful. I particularly enjoyed both the Governor's remarks and the remarks by Joe Hogan from GE Medical Systems. I really didn't know what an amazing company they were and how important they are to Wisconsin and the image Wisconsin wants to portray for the future.

I liked the presentation by Craig Culver because it is a grass roots type of business. His approach is the type of thing we want to encourage up in our area in Northern Wisconsin.

I've heard him [Dr. Kriegel] before. His message was fresh but similar in the sense that people need to destroy assumptions and think outside of the box in order to be creative and move their businesses and personal lives forward. I thought of a couple things I might change based on some of the creative thought processes that he discussed today.

I thought Bill Fruth's presentation was interesting in terms of the numbers about Wisconsin and the areas that are growing. I thought his targeted industry list was very interesting. It's always informative to get an outside analysis of your area.
