The "Northland" of Northwestern Wisconsin and Northeastern Minnesota has witnessed a blossoming of creative and cooperative approaches to economic development. Chris Maddy of the Northspan Group will discuss the development of Northland Connections, a regional economic development Web site. Mark Mueller of the Northwest Regional Planning Commission will discuss the development of the Wisconsin Rural Enterprise Fund, an angel capital fund established by communities, economic development organizations and rural electric cooperatives in Northwestern Wisconsin. Rob West will highlight APEX, a newly created, privately funded economic development organization serving the greater Duluth-Superior area.
