Peter TegenPeter Tegen has coached the University of Wisconsin women's track and cross country teams since 1974. Named Big Ten Coach of the Year in track six times and in cross country seven times, Tegen is one of the most respected coaches in the country. He has coached more league champions, national champions and All-Americans than any other Big Ten coach. He has also developed more All-Americans than any coach in Wisconsin athletic history.

Tegen has worked as a teacher in Germany, Africa, Latin America and Mexico. He has competed as a wrestler, sprinter, swimmer and gymnast. He fluently speaks four languages, sings and plays guitar, piano and cello.
