Workshop: Opportunity Zones in Wisconsin

Preparing Wisconsin Opportunity Zones for Investment

The Wisconsin Economic Development Association and statewide partners, including the League of Municipalities, CarW, WEDC and WHEDA, are inviting communities with designated Wisconsin Opportunity Zones to a full-day workshop focused on preparing an Opportunity Zone Investment Prospectus.

The workshop will be held on February 6th, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM at the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino (1611 W Canal Street, Milwaukee, WI 53233). Registration is now open! The goal of the workshop is to provide Wisconsin communities and their partners with the necessary information and potential financial tools to better position their zones or specific properties for private investment.

While the workshop is focused on Opportunity Zones from a community perspective, it is anticipated that the best outcomes of the workshop will be those communities or individuals that are focused on a specific building, parcel or community redevelopment plan that can be a catalyst in the zone.

The workshop will also help communities to understand how different programs can potentially impact a project and its Return on Investment. Again, each attendee or group of attendees should be focused on a specific parcel or project.
