WEDA’s 2019 Legislative Day, held on March 20 in Madison, proved to be another successful event – providing WEDA members with a unique opportunity to build relationships with state lawmakers and educate them on critical economic development policy issues.
The annual advocacy day at the State Capitol allows members to network with industry colleagues, hear from key policymakers and meet with their state lawmakers on legislation important to economic development professionals.
During the 2019 event, WEDA members advocated for many of the association’s legislative priority issues, including:
- Talent Attraction
- Workforce Housing
- Tax Incremental Financing
- Rural Economic Development
- Wisconsin Opportunity Zone Legislation
- Infrastructure Funding
- Dark Stores Legislation
Public policy decisions made at the State Capitol have a significant impact on economic growth across Wisconsin. That’s why it’s increasingly important for economic development professionals to have a strong voice in the legislative process. As such, we hope you join us for the 2020 WEDA Legislative Day to help advance our pro-economic development legislative agenda.
2020 WEDA Legislative Day will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Please stay tuned for more details…
