About WEDA's Professional Development and Education
Professional education is a key benefit of WEDA membership. WEDA offers a wide variety of educational events throughout the year. Timely topics are highlighted by state and nationally known experts. All attendees leave with information and ideas that can be put into practice immediately. WEDA Spring Meetings and Fall Conferences alternate locations in Wisconsin to serve members throughout the state. The annual Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in Madison has become a “don’t miss” event for over 300 members and non-members alike.

Biennial Economic Development Awards
In 1985, WEDA established the Biennial Awards program with the purpose of exceptional contributions to the economic vitality of Wisconsin through the use of creativity, leadership, effort, investment or other attributes which further broad-based economic development goals and objectives within the State of Wisconsin.

The Biennial Awards program award selection process includes:
  • The use of creativity
  • Leadership
  • Effort
  • Investment or other attributes which further broad-based economic development goals and objectives within the State of Wisconsin.
This is an excellent opportunity to recognize individuals, businesses and organizations that are making significant contributions to the economy of Wisconsin. It is also a good way to spotlight WEDA and the important role our members play.

SELECTION PROCESS: Nomination forms available June 2012 for the February 2013 Governor's Conference on Economic Development
